What You Need To Know About Ground Floor Direct Sales Companies When I first heard about this industry and especially about ground floor direct sales companies, aka Network Marketing, MLM, etc., the first thing I thought of was all the people who had been in one and didn’t make it because either they quit, or their company  just simply disappeared. This is precisely where Network Marketing, MLM, and Direct Sales has formed a bad name. These days, when looking into good ground floor direct sales companies, it is wise to be a skeptic, (but NOT a cynic). Make sure to invest a lot of time and do your due diligence, looking at 40 to 50, (yes FIFTY) different companies before dropping into ANY of them, because 99% of them will go away, and they will always tell you exactly what you would love to hear at the presentation – “We have the best compensation, best vitamins, best system, best team, and we’re growing the fastest!”. I do love this industry, but I do not defend it, because the majority of these companies that come and go every year and are disgrace to the industry, because…. WARNING!! Roman Candles, Bottle Rockets, and Very Short Rides, aka Ground Floor Direct Sales Companies ! Have you ever been approached by one of these? I sure have! You know, the “brand new company” with all the hype and fluff, talking about how it is important to be “first”, and they have all the momentum, (at first)? Then when the (“get rich quick” thinking dreamers) find out it’s not as easy as their upline said it would be, they lose their momentum, and CRRRAAASSSHHH,,,, eating sand! There are also many many other reasons these ground floor direct sales companies fail, but we won’t go there in this post! Now, being experienced in the industry, I am approached every single week from somebody excited about their ” brand new ground floor direct sales companies “, or spamming everyone on Facebook or email, and even wasting money on ads, talking about “we’re the first ones” and “get in on this ground floor opportunity!” I immediately think to myself, “geez, poor people won’t even realize until it’s too late … the (first ones) to get all of their friends into a company that fails, and after all that effort and hard work, their credibility and image will be gone forever when it crashes!” Now I’m not here to kill dreams, and hopefully it does not happen to them and they become successful over time, but the odds are WAY against them. This is why I feel obligated to shed some light, so people can do some due diligence FIRST! Ground Floor Direct Sales Companies – CRASH! As everyone has probably noticed by now, many people have to “jump around” in the MLM industry. Yes, even the so-called “proven leaders” have to “start again”, right? Think about it: What about yours? Is that what he/she is doing? Why do they do that? It’s because they HAVE to, not because they wanted to. They wanted to eventually make the “walk away” residual income, right? But you’ll now realize that these “proven leaders” had to start again, working hard to yet build another one of those “brand new ground floor direct sales companies” because again, their last one failed them, or their team fizzled when they found out they “weren’t first”! You see, they HAVE to keep working, building a “new” one every time! Now, unless they open their mind to get the 40,000 foot view and statistics in the industry, they will have to be jumping around to new companies and WORK HARD, over and over again, their whole career, (which goes against what a true ground floor direct sales companies are supposed to create for their distributors)! These distributors who hope to be “first” are hoping to not have to work ever again, but not understanding they’ll have to do it all over again with the next one, because every time a “Roman Candle” or “new” (short ride) company loses it’s momentum and all the hype is gone, (when everyone finds out they’re not “first”, and it’s harder than they said it was going to be), the checks go away, so the “leaders” have to jump to the next hot thing. Now that may be fine for the Master Distributors as far as income goes, but what about everyone else that put their hard work in for years, only to get the phone call that there is no more company? The truth is, the real “walk away” money that was promised to everyone, never really happens when it comes to 99% of START-UPS, because… WARNING: Statistics of ground floor direct sales companies – epic fail! Did you know: There have been over 60,000 to 70,000 companies invented in the MLM/Direct Sales world, but only 11, (that right, only ELEVEN), have actually made it to $1Billion per year in sales and kept going to $5B and $10 and more? Now do the math on that…. This means that your odds of ever making any real “walk away” wealth in MLM is actually .00018 in a “start-up”! You see, 99.9% of the time, the “ground floor direct sales companies” fail in the first 5-8 years. On top of that, those that “make it” usually sit at around $50million to $100million/year, so it’s a very slow grind for 10 or 15 years. I know a guy that’s been working hard in his business for 3 years now, only making $300/month after all this time – (and I’m not even sure if I believe THAT)! This is upsetting! Now, the reason why true professionals in the industry will only position with a bigger, proven, solid, faster moving company, is because they will not put their image and credibility on the line in “ground floor direct sales companies“, where the odds are just not there for them. If you know the statistics and history of the home business arena, you look for solid companies with proven track records – something that will be around for you and your family, with products and a system that creates the true “walk away” income. A ground floor opportunity vs. a ground floor direct sales companies : THE SOLUTION Now when doing our due diligence, taking a 40,000 foot view of the industry, we would probably want to see who has a proven track record for growth and stability. Who and how many actually HAVE actually walked away with huge incomes? Also, which companies have made the most millionaires? What are the best ENTRY POINTS? I heard someone the other day that said, “oh no, the market is saturated with ___, so and so”. What they don’t know is that “saturation” is a figment of their imagination. All eleven of the billion dollar companies are still growing every single day, launching new innovative products, and opening up new countries, every single year. It’s quite funny, because it’s like saying, “oh no, nobody is going to buy any more Apple products, it’s saturated, everybody’s already heard of the iPhone!” Question: If you were really wanting to make serious long-term streaming income in the industry – Would you want to hype people up, telling them that “they’re first” with a “ground floor thing”, where they fizzle out and quit 3 or 6 months later when everyone finds out their not “first”, and it’s not as easy as you said it was at the first presentation? OR.. Would you rather partner with a huge, stable, PROVEN company with tons of assets and patents, that constantly acquires new companies, innovates and launches new technology and product, (giving it’s distributors a “ground floor opportunity” EVERY 6 MONTHS), and that grew $400,000,000 last year in the so-called “bad economy”? You see, every time these bigger companies acquire a new company, launch new innovation, or launch a new country, they grow by the hundreds of millions, every year, while they create a new million dollar earner EVERY few DAYS… Why the smartest pros never do ground floor direct sales companies When you begin to know more about the history of Direct Sales, and know the statistics and odds, you would not gamble, hoping that someday you’ll luck out and a start-up would make it. For instance, if you knew that you had a 99% chance of your relationship failing, would you get married? Due Diligence For Ground Floor Direct Sales Companies and/or Opportunities Here are some thing you will want to look for and think about when starting YOUR home business. – PROVEN? (Everyone says they have high quality vitamins that “absorb” and work), but can you MEASURE it? Is there PROOF, and a GUARANTEE for results? Is the comp plan proven over time, or have there been companies with the same comp plans that have FAILED? – Patents? (If you don’t have patents, you have fierce competition). – Good for men and woman and children and older people? (If the kids or older folks do not need the product/service, there goes half of your market). – INSTANT (gratification)? (Wellness companies are awesome, but it’s a “delayed” gratification. People want INSTANT gratification also!) – ALREADY purchasing? (If your prospects weren’t ALREADY buying some of the products the company offers, they will most likely come off of their “auto delivery” if they don’t have much money.) In other words, if you created a NEW bill/purchase for them and they’re not making money fast enough, you’ll have too much attrition. – International? (Is the business already open for distribution in other countries?) If not, your market is limited. Ground floor direct sales companies have no international expansion for the first years, so you can not make money “while you sleep”, you can not build an international business, and you’ll  have no system or structure for your international contacts to plug into. – LEADERS? Very Important: (How many leaders are in your upline?) Are the true proven leaders, or did they just “get 3 to get 3″ and make a bunch of the “quick money”? When coming into a business, you actually do NOT want to be “first” in ground floor direct sales companies because you’ll have no support system. Leaders are usually busy and don’t have time for you, so you need MANY for support. Your “friend who got you in” is not going to cut it. Especially if they don’t know what they’re doing. You need at least many hard working, skilled leaders for support and driving lines.) – Comp Plan? (If it’s any form of a “binary” , “just get two that get two”, or “get 3 to get 3″, run away! If they tell you “it’s easy”, run away as fast as you can! There’s no such thing, stop looking for that.) – BRANDING? Most companies can not teach a distributor how to brand and market their business online, learning how to ATTRACT people instead of “chase” friends and family.
